School is about discipline, and commitment. There were many times were I felt overwhelmed, but I always reminded myself of the end result, so I never gave up. If I had to do it again, I would enjoy school more, and stress less as I was very anxious over the future. When I first came to California State University, Long beach, I had no idea what to major in. I was interested in many different subjects, but I ended up settling on Management Information Systems. I chose this major because it requires social, and technical skills which I possess. I’m currently hungry for hands on experience as my program lacks that. The Management Information Systems(MIS) department has a shortage of teachers, so I have to rely on my own projects to learn the necessary programming languages. The Information Systems Student Association has been wonderful in helping fellow MIS members which created a sense of community. We, MIS students support one another as much as we can as we understand our struggles. However, I’m very disappointed by the program because of the lack of quality education. I hope to become a business analyst once I graduate college, and I believe that internships, and networking will get me there. I never think about what I want to be doing in 10 years as I believe every day is different, and unique in its own way. What I’m interested now, may change in 10 years. I just hope I’ll be happy and successful in whatever path I’ll
