QUESTION :- HOW IS AUTO TUNE RUINING THE BEAUTY OF A SINGERS’ VOICE?
RATIONALE :- I chose this topic and wanted to research about auto tune because I wanted to convey that the usage of auto tune should lower down.
INTRODUCTION
Auto tune is basically an audio processor which is used to alter the pitch of vocals and instruments during music recordings or performances. It was originally invented to disguise or correct off-key inaccuracies. Auto tune is famous mainly because it is used as an effect to distort the human voice when pitch is lowered or raised significantly, such that the voice is heard to leap from note to note stepwise, just like a synthesizer.
DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
Many people will have different views about auto tune. But mostly

He said “far too many people have jumped onto technology and the use of auto tune is ruining music”. This song then went on to become a super hit not only in USA but all over the world. There were some people who criticized the song saying “people enjoy auto tune. How can you say people don’t enjoy it.”

How auto tune has changed music (Pros)
Technology is invented to make our lives easier. Auto tune was only correct the off pitch in a recording. So auto tune can be used intelligently to modulate voice or to make an average singer sound better. Apart from voice, auto tune is used to improve over all tonal quality of instruments. Also if and when used cleverly, it can add a beautiful flavor to the music production.

But however, auto tunes have some disadvantages on both music and musicians.
Singers and musicians with limited amount of knowledge about pitch will sound good and get more fame than an over all good singer which is not fair. Auto tune encourages mediocre singers to come out with musical productions very easily. Draw back being singers and musicians don’t need to put in a lot of effort in understanding the importance of absolute pitch. If a singer uses auto tune, song will sound good only in studios but cannot reproduce the same brilliance in a live

Rich gives several other examples of top hits from this past summer, and again, the singers are all very well-known multinational celebrities, whereas the songwriters are practically anonymous. Another interesting point that Rich makes throughout his article is that “artists”, aka singers, are just that. Because most singers get their songs from songwriters, and are not original pieces, Rich makes the argument that the singers are not actually artists, but just people who can sing. Since they are not writing their own music, in my opinion the hardest part of being a musician, and crafting their art from the ground up, they are then no longer artists, but just merely world famous singers. In case you are wondering how hard writing a song is, one famous singer who tried to transition from using a songwriter’s creation to writing their own pieces would be Taylor Dayne.…
