Animal testing is a horrendous way to produce ingredients for products because of the harmful effects left on the animals. Alternative tests have effects that are more suitable for cosmetic companies because the results are better and more time/cost efficient. Despite the beliefs that animal testing for cosmetics is beneficial, it is harmful and unnecessary to the animals being tested and it may hurt many companies’ credibility, therefore animal testing should be banned for all American companies in the cosmetic industry. Even though it is hard to believe that animal testing is positive, it is true that there are some ways that animal testing positively affects companies’ products. One way is because it fills test gaps, “There aren’t non-animal test methods available yet for every single test area that needs to be performed for new ingredients… So where there are test gaps, animal tests are performed”(Humane Society International, hsi.org). According to Troy Seidle a pole concluded that, “88 percent of us believe animal testing causes pain and suffering to animals and that such suffering just for cosmetics isn’t worth it, especially when safe ingredients are already available,”(Seidle). Considering that most people don’t feel the need to buy products with newly tested ingredients, why should companies continue to do that it is not an absolutely necessary practice. There are thousands of chemicals out there that have already gone through the process of being tested so it wouldn’t be like companies couldn’t make new products, they could make many. Yes companies want to make money by selling newly improved products but that is not going to make people want to buy products that aren’t apart of their daily use. Gregory Mone states that animal testing is a long and expensive process and can take several years and use up millions of dollars to carry out, (Mone).…

Animal testing is no longer effective in today’s society. Testing has no purpose, it has been said many a time that it is useless and unnecessary. There is a higher chance of flipping a coin and being accurate in a test than actually doing the research and testing on animals. To see if a new product is safe it goes through a whole process where animals are being mistreated for the benefits of humans. Animals in experiments today are bred for the sole purpose of the particular experiment, so once the experiment ends, the animals have no value, and end up getting euthanized, because they are useless to scientists.…
