“Ok are you ready pitch”?
“Yes i am”.
Alrighty play ball!!!”.
As I walked up to bat, I could notice that the pitcher was scared. It seemed like he had never been in this situation before. Standing in the batter's box doing my
Personal Narrative I’m going to be writing about the Kanas City Royals postseason run. Some of the places my story will take place in Kansas City, Los Angeles, & San Francisco. So the reason I’m writing this is because I love the Royals. This meant so much to me because it was the first time in 29 years since the Royals have been in a playoff game.…
How are they going to get someone good enough to play the outfield in time”? Ace just turned the tv off and headed off to practice. He decided to talk to Reese about working with him since he was next in line to play. Ace found Reese and he started talking to him. “Hey man I know we haven't started off on a good foot…
It was only a matter of time until Flores gave up a couple hits; the opposing team began to chatter more throughout the game. The chatter did not die throughout the close game, after a full 7 innings played we had lost 2-3; we started to shake the opposing team hands as a ‘good game gesture’. A couple of their players still continued to give Flores a hard time, and he had enough of it. Flores went right up to the kids that were still chattering and got in each others faces. As it got all of our attentions we formed a circle and started to argue with the other team as well as pushing and shoving them.…
Levi was pitching, and is a really good pitcher. I will admit, Ethan wasn’t the greatest player in the world, but he definitely had one of the biggest hearts on the field. Even though Ethan wasn’t the best player, I still cheered him on from the on-deck circle. After a couple of pitches, somehow, Ethan hit the ball and got on first base. I came up to bat and Levi kept telling Ethan that his hit was nothing but luck.…
I would go back to the day where i could have won the championship for my team. It was a super hot day, about 95 degrees out and no wind, we had a big game that day and every one was nervous. It was the championship game versus one of the best teams in the country, the Florida Gators. The smallest kid on there team was bigger than me, these guys were giants. We keep up with them being behind only one run through out the whole game, it was the last inning with two players on base and I'm up to bat.…
I said in a bratty voice. I stepped out of the imaginary batter's box took a few deep breaths, tightened my batting gloves, and then stepped back into the batter’s box, thinking about finally getting a good cut. Nick threw another ball perfectly placed down the plate. I started my cut keeping my head down swinging at just the right speed, I made perfect contact and the ball when flying straight back to the end of the cage, or at least it would of!…
I got the take sign right hand grabbing the bill of his cap. But the pitch was beautiful. Best pitch I ever saw in my life. So I tightened my grip on the bat let it rip. I hammered it, but it was a line drive to the shortstop; he caught it.…
Our pitcher threw the ball and a quick swing from the batter made a pop and sent the ball flying towards center. As the raging ball came towards me I ran forward to it. It was getting closer and closer I jumped closed my glove and with great pride opened it up again. The glove was empty I panicked and turned back the ball was at the warning track the runner was making his way towards 3rd base. I turned and ran as fast as my body could, but I was too slow by the time I picked up the ball the runner was already making his way towards home base.…
Pow! First hit of the game and I am sprinting hard to each base “get down! get down! get down!” my coach screams as I am running to third base.…
I swung, and ended up swinging as the ball passed me. The next pitch came and I waited a second longer and smacked the ball right back at the pitcher. I ran as fast as my little legs would move. I reached first base and looked at my dad to see him jumping up and down with excitement; he was so proud of me I couldn’t help but smile back at him. As the game progressed, I had no idea how I was magically given these talents.…
Just stepping on to it felt right. My biggest stage to play, and I had my self a good day of baseball, I took advantage of the field and went as hard as I could. Waking up in the hotel at around 6 am to a text from my coach, it read “Chayton you’re pitching today. I need a win so do whatever…
For the last few years of my life, I have been on my school’s PSAL Baseball team playing third base. And, while playing baseball generally requires an abundance of skill in applying critical thinking, one incident during my time with the team stands out to me. It was a sunny spring day in Brooklyn with a gentle breeze picking up the dirt of the field and carrying it off towards the New York high rises around the fields. At the time, our team was undefeated and, since none of the games were close, the thought of losing had never even entered our mind the entire season. That was, until we were the home team during the top of the ninth inning with a one run lead with one out.…
The final inning arrived, and we had to get three more outs. We decided to move our players around and change pitchers one more time to make Brooks face someone from the mound they had never seen before. Sure enough, the pitching change worked. One out.…
Baseball is just a game for the fans and people, for the players it means so much more. Every play matters, when a play does not go the teams away, frustration starts to kick in until now. In the offseason of 2013 Mlb made changes. It was confirmed in 2014 commissioner Bud Selig, to confirm plans to expand on instant replay. This was major announcement from the commissioner, as well as for the players and teams.…
As I walked into the stadium, the smell of hotdogs and popcorn filled the air. It was a familiar setting. A setting I had grown to know very well because my dad loved baseball. The red white and blue colors were everywhere as fans came from every direction into the stadium. My dad and I walked to the outfield where the opposing team was warming up for the game.…
