Nguyen, I discovered the fragility of life. Many lives were saved but some were lost. Through these experiences, I became aware that people will still get sick and eventually pass on. This led me to the conclusion that the goal of a doctor is not only to cure diseases and treat the sick but also to enter into a position of servant leadership in the community, and to invest in people’s lives. For that day will always remain in my mind as the day in which all the things that I had been curious about were seen through my own eyes.

Also by the opportunity given to me, I was able to develop communication skills, experience working with people from different backgrounds, acquire knowledge about my own abilities and limitations, as well as demonstrating my enthusiasm for my future career

However, some people have always known what they feel passionate about and can make a career out of. Ever since I was young, I have always loved houses from interior to exterior and even structurally with floor plans. Some kids are born knowing that they want to be neurosurgeons or kindergarten teachers, and some find their “calling” in high school after taking a government class, or watching a psychologist in action. It can be a process, but almost everyone I know has settled on one option, or at least one area, by the time they’ve reached their senior year of high school. I, on the other hand, meet the question “What do you want to do when you grow up?” with wide eyes and a mouth that opens and closes like a fish having a panic attack. My problem isn’t that I haven’t found my passion; it’s that I’ve found way too many of them.…

In early elementary school, I remember wanting to be an artist “when I grew up,” and for all of middle school, I was almost obsessed with the idea of owning my own bakery and decorating cakes when I graduated from school. It wasn’t really until high school until I gave any serious thought to what type of career I should stride towards, or any serious thought to what meaning I wanted my life to have. In high school, I took many interesting and challenging classes, got to know a lot of very good teachers, and got involved in a multitude of diverse extracurricular activities.…
