Many different skills that a person may need, already have, or build up for success are known as 21st-century skills. 21st-century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed. There are so many skills that I did not know, but are considered 21st-century skills. Attending an orientation helped me think deeply into skills that I have. Not only that but this orientation made me think of what my job could expect from me, what I need in order for me to succeed. The instructor who gave the orientation was helpful, she made me develop my thoughts deeper than what I had in mind. I would not change anything from the orientation I attended, everything that was said was very helpful. I developed four objectives and they were not as detailed. It was hard to really know which ones I could …show more content…
My skill levels at the beginning of the semester where poor. I had skills, but they were not as detailed. If you asked I 'd say, “I communicate with people.” I have developed a lot of them throughout this semester. Communication, customer service, job knowledge, technology and a few more. I have been challenged this semester and hope to continue challenging myself to get to my goals. I set my objectives, but my knowledge was not set. I was confused on whether I could follow up with those skills. I pushed myself and I have new objectives made. I have learned how to act out at a workplace but also to know when I can use certain skills. These objectives I made for myself were challenged but I managed to accomplished everyone is a short period of time. I found a way to lose my

Lately there has been a lot of legislature, mainly in the southern states, regarding illegal immigrants in the workforce. An example of this would be a law that has been passed in Alabama that makes proof of citizenship or legal residency a requirement even for simple things such as garbage pickup, dog licenses and flu shots at county health departments. Some politicians are justifying laws such as these based on the claim that the American unemployment rate is so high in part because illegal immigrants are taking job that unemployed Americans could be doing. Currently one out of every nineteen civilian workers in the United States is undocumented (Gleeson 561). In this paper I will try to explore the types of businesses that employ illegal…

My experience during the mock skills was great. I was really good at remembering the step for each skill. This was my second time taking the class, while I didn’t take it serious the first time, I was still very nervous as we got closer and closer to our midterm mock skills test. I was constantly second guessing myself because because of how easy it all seemed. I was very confident the first time I took the class and didn’t pass by one point so when a skill appeared to be easy or I felt like I knew something it would only make me more and more nervous.…

Self reflection practices has been a integral part of my life in personal growth by learning about myself and prioritizing what I consider important. In my mid-thirties, I had a strong intuitive feeling that I was not living a fulfilling and purposeful life in accordance with my personal values. During this time I was working as an inbound customer service representative in a call center for a promotional product manufacturer. Although I enjoyed the daily interactions with customers via phone and the problem solving aspects of the job, it began lacking real tangible results that I would able to see in a face-to-face connection with clients. I had spent over ten years working as a customer service representative for various companies and never felt that this career path was in alignment with my life's purpose.…

My original long-term goal was to lose twenty pounds, which now seems almost impossible due to me not being able to lose ten pounds in a few months. I was also unable to meet my three short term goals.…

Looking back on my semester, and my Global Mindset Inventory Assessment I can say based off of the parameters I set for myself, I could have been a lot better about ensuring that I achieve my goals and objectives. However, I think that by acknowledging the areas where I was the weakest/lacked the certain skillset needed, allowed for me to still have some personal growth in these areas. In my Assessment Plan, I had chosen to work on my Cosmopolitan Outlook (2.71), Interpersonal Empathy (2.83) and Global Business Savvy skills (1.38). I had originally chosen theses skills, because they were ones that I scored the lowest in, but also because I found them to be the ones that provided the best opportunity for personal growth in myself across my scoresheet.…
