There are few things greater than the feeling one gets from learning about and creating art. In today 's society, many schools have lost sight of the importance of art education. Studies have shown that schools that offer art education have overall higher test scores than schools that did not. It was also noted that schools with art programs had higher attendance rates. Art has always been an uplifting activity and experience throughout time. It is important that students are not held back by the school systems from successful futures because of a lack of art education.

Art Education is a necessary part of the development of each human being. Many who have studied learning through the ages, starting with Plato, emphasized the importance of the arts in education. Study in the arts is integral to our society. The founders are a part of the cultural heritage of human life. A 2005 report by the rand corporation argued that the pleasures and stimulation of the art experience do more than "sweeten an individual 's life". Funds can be raised by school events and the districts getting money from the government. Another option is budget cuts. If school districts stop unnecessary spending on programs that most students do not want like JROTC, the extra cash could be used to fund art education. Another alternative to help save money, could be merging different extra-curricular activities together. That would include programs like glee club, geek club, or other groups into one large program saving money for separate functions. Although volunteer work is a last resort, it still can play a vital role. If art educators and instructors could be generous enough to donate some of free time available to help improve student education, it can be beneficial to the school
