Social media plays a dominant role in our society and even our daily lives. Social media means a channel people use to connect to each other for sharing, creating and exchanging information and ideas. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tagged, Foursquare, Instagram, Pinterest, MySpace, GooglePlus, Tumblr, Ask.fm and many more vigorously spread among people in the world not only teenagers and young adults but all different age groups utilize this social media at the present time. According to Oxford Dictionary Online, social media are websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.

Social media provides health care information to potentially improve health outcomes, improve a professional network, rise personal awareness of news and discoveries, motivate patients, and provide health information to the public. Maybe few issues mainly girls when they have any problems, they shy to share it their parents and will keep it in till the situation become worst. I had heard a story happened in my hometown. An Indian girl ,aged 17, she detected there is a small growth under the breast skin since she shy to tell her parents and it leads to breast cancer. If she ever post about her problems and early symtoms in any social networking media such as blogs or Medpedia, surely she knows what is she going through and get treatment in first stage. And through social media, I get to know many medical insurance such as Prudential, Great Eastern , Allianz Worldwide Care Malaysia, GlobalHealth, AXA, Nordiac, BUPA Malaysia and many more. I had secure my life in taking a policy from Prudential. Information from this social media regarding health help much more in my life. In conclude, Social media can also improve patients access to health care information
