Pakistan's timberlands assets are contracting at a rate of one percent which nearly will adversely affect the general population of Pakistan. Deforestation is one of the major crises of Pakistan as the country is not independent in wood based items and the expense of import of timber and wood based items is of billions of rupees. Following are the factors which are excessively leading towards deforestation.
Infrastructure Development:
Recently we have come across some massive constructions in Punjab, building of roads, overhead bridges, the metro bus routes and orange train paths constructions. Such mega constructions are eminently the major reason for the deforestation in Pakistan. The infrastructural developments are destroying the natural habitats, which is not only causing deforestation but also damaging the environment by pollution and devastating the ecological system.
Urbanization:
Urbanization has played an immense role in the deforestation. Increasing development of urban cities has changed forests into urban societies along these lines losing the backwoods or abatement in woodland zone.
