Final Draft In the “Car World” there is an argument that has been going on for a very long time; Japanese Import cars vs. American Muscle cars. Many people say that import cars are better than muscle cars in many way. Others say that muscle cars are better than import cars. Many people like both types of cars. While others don’t like either types of cars for their own personal reasons. People should choose import cars over muscle cars because imports have better modifications that can help the car have better performance. For example, “Honda's service bulletin says that this internal difference means that "no alternatives are recommended ... use of the Bridgestone Potenza S02 Pole Position or Bridgestone S02 can adversely affect the handling" of the S2000.” (Hilton) This shows that even a small Japanese car like an S2000 has better handling when turning, control, etc. than a muscle car. This is because the S2000 is more lighter than a muscle car, which is heavier. That makes it harder for the car to turn better, or have better control after drifting, etc. If not used correctly, the Ford Mustang, for example, has been known to crash into many crowds of people because the driver pushes it’s limit and makes the car lose traction and control, and they end up hitting many people in big crowds. Imports also have better handling even in during different climates and weather. “When flakes start flying, cars like the Dodge Challenger and the Ford Mustang usually are left to while away their winters in the garage, leaving the slippery commutes and errands to others.” (Cole) When winter comes, usually muscle cars stay in the garage and wait until winter is over. While AWD (All Wheel Drive) import cars are out in the snow having the time of their lives. That’s usually because muscle cars are never AWD and a lot of Japanese cars are.
