I distinguished the appropriate feedback from the feedback that was not, by looking at how the feedback would improve my writing and help me to develop a better thought out piece of work.
The reason why I did this is to become a better writer, to create a valuable piece of work and to input the actionable feedback that I received.
The feedback I implemented improved my work by making it more cohesive and organized. I needed to give the readers a reason to care about the story and characters, so I used some of the feedback suggestions to create that.
I ended up building my story around the beliefs of the main character and using that for the basis of my plot, this is a specific example, I wrote, "For the most part over the years, I have believed in the same things my parents believed. However, after three years in Kashmir boarding school, which my parents can barely afford, my beliefs have changed", this I wrote to help the readers to see her reasons, which is the reason for me writing the piece itself to tell her story. The areas I feel I could have improved are the plot and the theme. As for the plot, I could not settle upon exactly what I want to say in this story, one part of me wanted to tell a story about a teen who had been good most of her life and followed the status quo but after years of being bullied and disrespected she wants to become a person that fights for others Human rights by becoming a Human rights activist. The other part of me wanted to tell the story of a teen who wanted to make up her own mind after years of doing what her parents told her to do. I am not sure if I achieved either goal. As for the theme, I’m not sure if my final piece had the impact I wanted it to
