Identify the problem in this case, as perceived by Dean Jacobs, Beth, and Chef Reiner.
Dean Jacobs
Dean Jacob’s major concern is to increase the number of enrollment for the culinary arts program, which has recently been decreasing. On the other hand, he also wants to ensure that program being delivered is a high quality. He is confident about the ability of Chef Reiner in his profession and strategies, which have already shown improvement in the program. But, he is also apprehensive of the fact that Chef Reiner is a strict disciplinarian, and this has remained a concern for some of the students. Thus, with the objective of finding a balance, he entrusted the task to Beth Owens, their faculty consultant for ID (Wray and Wilson, 2007).

His most significant concerns relate to their not wearing their uniform properly, grooming of their hair and nails, and classroom attendance. Some of them also do body piercing, wearing of nail polish and jewelry, which he thinks is against sanitary norms of the kitchen. When he gives them low grades for their improper conduct they will become frustrated. He agrees that this may have contributed to some of the students dropping out from the program. On the flipside, he believes his evaluation has been effective and the students also find it a good system and have shown improvement. He considers that it will be better for the students to fail in the school rather than in their profession and believes in the philosophy that if they cannot bear the heat of the kitchen they should get out of it; rather, if they cannot conform to the disciplinary and sanitary standards they should leave their studies and pursue other courses (Wray & Wilson,
