It is a victim-centered approach that prioritizes accountability, healing, and reintegration of both the victim and the offender into the community.

Violence prevention efforts are important because they seek to reduce the incidence of violence and its impact on victims, families, and society as a whole. Restorative justice practices have been shown to be effective in preventing violence by addressing the underlying causes of violent behavior and promoting empathy, understanding, and healing.

Restorative justice practices have been successful in preventing violence and promoting healing in a variety of contexts, including schools, communities, and correctional facilities.

Challenges in implementing restorative justice practices in violence prevention efforts include resistance from traditional criminal justice systems, lack of funding, and lack of training for practitioners. Restorative justice practices are not appropriate for all types of crimes and may not be effective in cases where the offender is unwilling to participate or where there is a power imbalance between the victim and the offender.
