Implementing Evidence Based Practice

A staff nurse has a big role in implementing evidenced based practice. By implementing these practices they are delivering care that’s in the patients best interest. From my own experience at Denver Health I have seen this in action. Each month at Denver Health there is a goal; for example this month it’s to decrease the incidence of Clostridium difficile(C-Diff) . Implementation begins with manager offering various staff meeting throughout the hospital and presenting current research on C-Diff. The staff then implements this new information by making sure they properly clean equipment, preform hand hygiene, and provide managers with a written teach back on what they know. This is fairly new to us at Denver Health, but it will be interesting
