Imperialism: One Main Cause Of Slavery

Imperialism is destructive and unnecessary, it leaves less technologically advanced nations at the will of stronger nations. There are many harmful aspects of imperialism that can be avoided. For example, slavery is one potential outcome of imperialism that is harmful to imperialized countries. In addition, natural resources are often taken away, leaving the country that originally owned the raw materials without any profit. After imperialism abates, countries can be left with no structure to build upon. Finally, culture, religion, and language are often taken away from the countries that get imperialized.
Imperialism is one main cause of slavery. Slavery is where a servant is not paid and is forced to work for their owner and do their bidding. Slaves are deprived of what are considered human rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness/property. This occurred in a number of African countries including the Congo. Slaves are typically denied education, which inhibits the abilities of the slaves to make their lives or other lives better.
