Imperialism is one main cause of slavery. Slavery is where a servant is not paid and is forced to work for their owner and do their bidding. Slaves are deprived of what are considered human rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness/property. This occurred in a number of African countries including the Congo. Slaves are typically denied education, which inhibits the abilities of the slaves to make their lives or other lives better. In some cases, the imperialist country provided the police force, sanitation, law and order, and factories. When they leave, these things fell apart, leaving the imperialized country devastated. If some rival tribes had been controlled under one imperialist country and lived within common borders and the mother country left, the natives may have no structure or government. Civil wars sometimes break out related to disputed borders and resources after the mother country leaves. For instance, the Chadian Civil War and Sudan's civil war were caused by
