Due to the fact that the MNU has almost complete control over the aliens, they raid their houses and extract anything they think may be a weapon. These weapons are extracted because MNU feels they would be more efficiently used by their own men in the private military company. It also eliminates any potential threat the aliens may pose upon the MNU; their weapons were one thing that could successfully cause a social revolution among the aliens. Furthermore, MNU would extract alien bodies and exploit them in labs. Even going as far as performing exploiting Wikus, who was one of their own. Tests and experiments were performed on them, and when information was attained it was sold to expand the MNU economically. The MNU maintains its imperialistic status by remaining economically superior to those whom they are making a profit off of. Instead of putting time and money into improving the quality of life for the aliens, they invest in researching the alien’s technological and biological resources. Investing in the aliens is seen as unimportant because the benefit to the MNU is miniscule compared to the benefits reaped from the alien’s resources. With the power from the subjugation of the inferior, and oppression of an entire nation imperialistic leaders make decisions based on personal benefit.
