One of the many characters with an impairment in the book is Curley. Curley is a small man with a big ego. For example, when Curley saw Lennie, he started sizing him up. (Steinbeck 25). Curley’s size makes him jealous and invious which is why he sized up Lennie. Another example of when this impairment is seen can be found in Chapter 3 when Curley saw Lennie laughing, he started beating him up. (Steinbeck 63). Curley thinks Lennie is laughing at him, thus he is going to defend himself. A final instance when this impairment is seen is in Chapter 3 when Curley says “What the hell you laughin’ at?” “Come on, ya big bastard. Get up on your feet.
