What do you think or feel about lying to others?Lying is sometimes acceptable, it just depends on the situation. How would you if someone is lying to not hurt your feels or anyone’s feeling. In my opinion everyone lies for that they do bad or other things to not get blame for anything that they did.For example they to not get in trouble or to just look good with their friends. I believe that lying is sometimes ok because their are certain people with mental health, that will hurt their self if their is something wrong with them or how they look.Someone with depression might not take your truthfulness the right way.For example, I really don’t care how I look or what over people think about me, but their are people that do everything for their appearance. In the article Teens DoTheir Share Of Lying In pargraph 21 it said Yolanda said that she lies about her outfits all the time becauseher mother is really strict, so she wears her real clothes underneath a baggy sweatshirt and pants and change once she get to school. For example their girls don’t want to show their parents that they wear makeup or what they wear to school. Hence, she decided then to completely tell the truth for an entire week realizing, lying was somewhat of a natural instinct that many had to do at least once. Therefore, she placed lies in categories such as deflecting, white lies, omissions, facades, dismissal, ignoring the plain facts, group think, delusion, and out-and-out lies. Maybe it will be a bit helpful to tell the truth at times but alot of people rather avoid tge drama and lie their way out of the situation if they can. Is it ok to lie in any situation, or is it just wrong to lie at all ? In four articles that I read, it states a couple of things, for example, they talk about lying and if it's bad, is lying sometimes good, and is lying good. I believe lying is only good sometimes and it should only be used in white lies. I think a good time to lie is when you protect someone. One scenario of this is the story of Ann Frank.this is a good example because they were protecting Ann and her family by saying that there was nothing upstairs.…

Everyone on Planet Earth is a liar; harsh but true. Every day we say “Yes, I am okay” or “No, I did not steal the cookie.” These are examples of the millions of lies told, big or small. In the short story The Ways We Lie, the author described ten types of lies: lies of delusion, lies of omission, lies of dismissal, or white lies (Ericsson 409-416). Upon reflection, I realized that I am guilty of telling many lies to save my image, to get out trouble, or to protect other people.…

Ericsson goes into great detail of about 10 of them, but there are many more. Some lies are for your peace of mind and maybe still bad for both parties, and some are for the better of someone else’s feelings. Ericsson believes that even if you feel you are perfect, nobody is and still tell lies no matter big or small, we do it and at times are unaware that it is considered a lie. For example, if there is a person who does not like conflict, he or she may tell a lie to fix the problem (Ford 98-99). People will also lie to other people by leaving out less desirable information that might hurt the other person emotionally. Lisa Firestone wrote “Even lies told in the name of protecting others can leave you feeling pretty bad about yourself, because you don’t feel like an authentic, strong individual when you aren’t being honest” (Firestone). The most common reason that lies by omission are told is to prevent unpleasant situations from occurring, even if it causes one to feel guilty (Firestone). People who have a big heart or cannot stand the thought of hurting someone or embarrassing them typically will lie to the other person by leaving out the more displeasing details.…
