Texting it 's like it’s own dialect has already spread to speech, social networking sites and other areas of writing as well. Short phrases are being used more than they need to, phrases such as “LOL” and “OMG” that appeared and started moved slowly into text dialect/ language and now beyond that too. This is not a big deal when you’re texting or emailing your friends, but young people don’t understand that they can’t write “LOL” or “WATS UP” in an email to their teachers, managers or other adults. Many high school students even when writing their assignments and turning them in they are using this type of writing. We can even hear it when they talk, our education is not going on Grammar, Reading, English overall is not the best. Misspelled …show more content…
We all text, some more than others especially with such easy access we have to cellphones and other devices. Texting is a way we as a new generation and more modern society use to communicate with each other at a much faster rate. Younger people express themselves through social networks and using text to communicate with their friends to get attention instead of verbally expressing themselves. Self expression is vital to understanding yourself and others in either your own way of uniqueness to the world or someone 's else uniqueness. This particular way of expressing may not seem as much of a big deal, but is not that good for a person’s psychological being to be limiting their self expression through usage of a cell phone or social media website. Social networking can become an addicting thing to do and can cause people to isolate themselves from others since all they do is sit behind a computer or in front of a cell phones. By having such advance technology that we can use cellphones to communicate faster or to go on the internet and use social networks. With social networks we all can share everyday life news through pictures and stories that we write on our status, in which anyone can see at any time. By being fully aware of the advantages and disadvantages we all have around social networking sites, it is up to the user on how we make used of it. Whether it is to be making a positive or negative way that will impact us in or others around us. Social media is our responsibility,to choose whether to use this technology correctly or incorrectly. Be sure to proofread tweets or posts before posting them because once you post them they will remain on the internet forever. The same thing is for text messaging once you have press the send button you cannot take back what has been send. Limiting ourselves and having control over to how much time we are spending in social network sites or to our cell phones text messaging is the best thing we can do with dealing with this
