Having both the people and patriot’s interpretations of the same America’s history helped to perceive what happened during the colonial America. A Patriot’s History of the United States by Schweikart and Allen described America’s past with virtue and patriotism that omitted out oppressive details of events that occurred. On the other hand, A People’s History of the United States by Zinn showed the unpatriotic side of United States with exploitation of people and land. In the English colonization, Schweikart gave a patriotic view of America by describing the land having a warm climate for growing cash crops. Between threats of terrorism, huge schisms in ideology, and accusations of anti patriotism, it’s no wonder the coming presidential election is heating up to be more of a three ring circus than an exercise in civic responsibility. There was much to celebrate during 1967, the year of Canada’s Centennial, but the highlight was Expo 67. Over 150 million people came to Montreal, Canada’s largest city at the time, to experience the year-long fairs that remains one of the greatest birthday parties in history. 120 countries were represented at the fair with 53 pavilions, and highlights included the gigantic U.S. geodesic dome, the inverted pyramid Canadian pavilion, and the large soviet structure. I think Americans are patriotic but not too much. After expelling the France from North America due to the the Seven Years’ War, Britain needs revenues to pay the war debts and increase the defense budge on North America expansion. So British government decided to impose taxes on the American colonists. At first, the Americans didn’t plan to planed to become independent of Britain because they viewed Britain as their homeland. It is when colonists noticed that British only attributed the victories to their own effort and neglected the fact that they used to fight alongside the British forces that the ideas of being dependent was generated in their mind.…
