Of course, the fight was happening across the Atlantic Ocean in Europe, where the US had economic relations to countries like Great Britain and France. With Germany using the Zimmerman Telegram to ask if Mexico would declare war on the US, the Lusitania sinking and killing 128 Americans, and the amounts of money America was already giving to the Allied Powers, the United States joined World War l against the Central Powers. They brought more troops to help the French Army fight against Germany, which led to the Treaty of Versailles. This stated the terms after the war and made the United States a creditor as opposed to a debtor after the war. This means that America was being returned more money for reparations after the war. After all of the fighting ceased, the United States became a World Power.
