Impact Of Mestizo Culture On European Culture

Many European countries competed for the colonies after the exploits of Christopher colombus. Many countries wanted to claim the land as their own and others wanted the resources from the land and some wanted to learned about the different cultures. People from England settled on the coast of the US and made it theirs. They created towns and grew crops and also succeeded at winning over the natives. Other countries like spain settled lower down and had children with the indians, and enslaved the indians to retrieve gold from the land. The French settled in the new world and instead of enslaving the natives, they created tribal alliances. The french traded ideas and other concepts such as cochineal which is a red dye made from bugs. New cultures were created, economies changed, and new/different ideas were traded throughout. The French settlers had children with the natives of the south american countries. This created a new culture called Mestizo culture. Mestizo is spanish for mixed. This name was very suiting because it was literally a mix of different cultures and people. Some economies changed such as Spain’s. When they acquired all the gold and silver from the enslaved natives, their economy became very wealthy, however they never adjusted for inflation. Ideas were also spread, such as cochineal the red dye, but also Maize which is known more commonly as corn. It was theses ideas and occurrences that helped to shape our world
