“Without change there is no innovation, creativity or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable” (William G Pollard). If we don 't have change in our society we have no creativity and don 't think of improving. When we finally think of change there is a certainty that we can change things. One must think of many things that change by the creation of the laser printer. What would we do without our paper in seconds? Or having to witness a very loud sound of two metal wheels turning against each other just to print a picture. Consider having to wait at least three days for the flyers made by your team or club. The printer made a change on how people use typography. Many computer programs were altered for the laser printer. This paper would lead to the invention of the laser printer, what lead to its creation, and how it made an impact.
The laser printer took a long time to be made and released. There were many attempts by many companies. Hewlett and Packard known for HP industry 's worked with other industries to remodify the many prototypes designed. “The first laser printer was made by Cannon industries. The product was made in Canons research lab where it stayed for a few years to become a product”(Our history). There was no one specifically that can be tied down to the role of creating the printer. As of 1975 the laser printer was being designed. During this time there were a lot of major computer companies opening up. In 1995 Microsoft was founded and a year later in 1996 the Apple computer was made. These events were leading to a technological revolution. There were many ideas to resolve many computer problems that existed. For printers there was a lot that needed fixing. According to the World Book online, “ Printer users before had to unroll and cut thermal rolls of paper or peel perforations from impact domatix fan folded paper” (Keith Ferrell). It was as easy as what people do now where the paper is placed inside the printer. Instead the other printers would print rolls of words that later would have to be cut into sheets. The printers of the time were not as friendly as the laser printers today. There was very poor reliability. According to Jim Hall a developer of the laser printer, “You could do wonderfully creative work, but in the end the job wasn 't finished until you could print the results… The only solutions available were slow noisy wheel printers, slow thermal printers that required expensive paper or dot matrix impact printers with poor quality” (Jim Hall). All of those inventions had been brought one after another but as they replaced each other the quality was the same. There had to be another solution for people to print their work. There had to be something that would reflect the good quality that the creation
