People move for various reasons: personal interest, jobs, escaping war, or reunification of families. The reasons why people move and the impact it has on the society they enter and the ones they leave are a part of globalization. century even as tensions between countries still exist and have carried over from last century. The focus for the US Administration in the 21st century is to eliminate terrorism especially since the attack on Sept. 11, 2001. Terrorism is a greater threat now compared to the last century.
Social movements
Social reform was especially prominent in the 20th century especially during the 1960s. In America, there was the civil rights movement and the feminist movement to name a few. In Europe, the counter culture movement spread throughout many countries including Paris, Rome, Amsterdam and West Berlin. The Counter Culture movement of the 1960s inspired the Occupy Wall Street movement of 2011. Though both were spearheaded by students, the difference between the Counter Culture movement and Occupy Wall Street movement was their mission. The Counter Culture movement focused on promoting peace and ending violence, while the Occupy Wall Street movement was focused on income inequality and the distribution of wealth which was marked by the 2008 recession.

These health advancements have allowed us to live healthier lives in the 21st century. Mortality rates were severely high in Europe especially in the early 20th century but gradually improved throughout the century. People are no longer falling ill to viruses such as yellow fever and smallpox. They are practically nonexistent in this century. The World Health Organization was created to further promote healthy measures and stop breakouts when they occur. People are now living longer and healthier. More countries and businesses are now focused on promoting healthier lifestyles.
Emerging knowledge perspectives
People now have easier and more access to information now than they did last century. Things that were of the imagination are now coming to life in this century. We have google glass, drones, and clones. Technology can do just about anything for us in this century. Things such as social media was first launched in the end of the 20th century but sophistication grew in the
21st. We can share our thoughts via twitter, our photos via facebook and even find a date online. Social media is now part of this generations lifestyle which was just an upcoming scientific field in the beginning of last
