In light of this threat, the child welfare workers must keep a close eye on the identified child. Depending on the number of children are identified as vulnerable to sex trafficking victimization (“Free”, 2015), a grant of 200,000 should be given to DHHS to hire new case managers. This grant would allow the child welfare department of DHHS to hire 50% more case managers who are trained on the risks factors for sex trafficking, and who are given a 10-child case load of strictly at-risk children to be monitored. TVIT has been researched and discovered to be both valid and reliable in identifying victims of sex and labor trafficking.
