One major impact of college sexual assault is the lack of reporting. This can be due to many factors ranging from fear of offender retaliation to the victim’s reputation being ruined due to victim blaming. As stated above, in regards to acquaintance rape, it is sometimes more difficult for the victim to report due to the fact that they have a personal relationship with their offender. In addition, many victims may not want to report due to their offender being an upheld member of the college community- such as a fraternity member or a sports player.
