Immunizations should be mandatory in the United States because they save lives. According to New York State, “Everyone six months and older should get a seasonal flu vaccine every year. It’s important to reiterate that every year children still die as a result of having the flu” (The Harm of Skipping Vaccinations or Delaying). There are many diseases that can be caught from simple contact and even airborne. In order to prevent such discomfort or even death, vaccines for immunizations should be necessary for overall health and a long life.
