Every year, over 1.4 million children die from diseases that are preventable with readily available vaccines. (Facts for Life, Fourth Edition pg 1) Immunization of children play a very important role in the well-being of today’s society as well as in the health of the future generations. Without vaccines, today’s generation would not thrive without the fear of disease or falling sick to pneumococcal conjugate (PVC), meningitis, mumps, measles, whooping cough, and the all too well known influenza. Vaccines work by introducing a weakened or deactivated form of a disease into the body. The immune system then recognizes and destroys the foreign agent, giving the body a “training exercise” through which it can develop antibodies and form an immunity.

The people and the mainstream media who claim that the vaccine autism link has been thoroughly debunked are all bought and paid for by the vaccine industry. Researchers do not know the cause of autism but are still investigating a number of theories, including the links among which are heredity, genetics and medical problems. Vaccines do not give immunity to the everyday germs that a child may face growing up. All children should be given the right to this protection. It is our responsibility as parents to give our children the best futures possible. The protection provided by vaccines by far outweigh the very small risks, if any. The key reason behind immunizations is to give you immunity to a disease before you realize it has infected you’re body. I think the main reason some parents choose not to immunize their children is due to lack of education. There have been multiple studies done that prove without a doubt that by immunizing your children it allows them to have a healthier, longer life. If we were to stop vaccinating, disease would stage a comeback at a rapid rate. Before we knew it there would be a worldwide epidemic. Causing more people to get sick and possibly face extinction. We don’t only vaccinate to protect our children, we should also do it to protect our future
