Immunization is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting children against certain disease. Immunization has transformed human health by preventing the deaths of hundreds of millions of people around the world, in fact it’s estimated that vaccination currently saves approximately three million lives each year (World Health Organization, 2011). Professor Suzanne Cory states “immunization is one of the great advances that has changed the world as we know it”.We have all personally benefited from vaccination and most people clearly understand the value of immunization and the way in which it is a key tool to lower the risk of serious infectious disease in our community, particularly for children.

The scientific evidence of vaccine efficiency is unequivocal and the safety of vaccines is very important as vaccines are given to prevent disease and target all or many members of the population most of whom are healthy.(Rappuoli.R,2011).
Vaccines are complex biological products designed to introduce a protective immune response effectively and safely.
