Immigration Project My great-grandfather, Henry Johnson, and his wife were the first members of my family to move to the United States. They moved from Sweden in the 1900s to Norwalk Connecticut, when they were both twenty years old. Leaving Sweden was the hardest decision he had to make in his entire life. He left in seek of opportunities and jobs that could support a family in the future. When they reached Connecticut, Henry got a job as a carpenter in order to pay for a house he had just bought. A few years later, his wife gave birth to the first of many children. On July 2, 1930 my grandfather Roger was born. He was one seven children. My grandfather meet my grandmother, Audrey, in 1949. In 1955 they married and moved to Bethel Connecticut.
