America is said to be the country of immigrants. Many people from different countries come and live here in America. They have their own culture and costume so it is difficult to be adjusted in the American society in the beginning. Immigrant don’t like the American food and clothes and seek their ethnic food and clothes. In 2008, USA starts receiving Bhutanese refugees for their resettlement. In the beginning, resettle people faced difficulties regarding food and clothes. To solve these types of problem, in the march of 2013, an ethnic store was opened in Manchester, New Hampshire by new Bhutanese immigrants. The store is owned by Radhika Acharya and Anpi poudyal. They didn’t have a strong economic background and it was their first business, they faced the financial burden in the beginning. It is obvious that bank charge high interest so they decided to take a loan from friends and family rather than from the bank. When the store was launched in 2013 they had less management skill which resulted for maximum time spend. They found problems to get the appropriate vendors. In search of vendors they contact the friends and family back in Nepal and India. The store starts getting the ethnic item from Kathmandu and New Delhi. But it arrived late here and sometimes the item received were broken due to which store bear loss. The item cost expensive to the seller so does to the buyer. To minimize the cost of the product the store started searching local vendors and contacts the other retailers. They hired experienced employees for this. So after couple of months they are successful in getting vendors form New York, New Jersey and Boston. This minimized the cost and time which is the time management approach of the store. From beginning of 2014, the store starts receiving green vegetable from New Hampshire itself. This …show more content…
Now, the store extends its services by opening up a western union franchise. The store helps Nepali speaking people to pay the utility bill. There are not more Nepali and Bhutanese people living in New Hampshire so nowadays store sells even the American food. This helps the store to increase its customers. The store is situated in 359 Elm Street, Manchester opposite to the Market Basket. Nowadays the store has more challenges because there are many ethnic Nepali stores opened in Manchester. The store is challenging the Market Basket which is renowned for its low price from the time of its opening. The store has 4 full-time working employees and is opens from Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm. The store is using the rapid improvement process (kaizen) to improve its condition. The store use less employee and time to run its business successfully. The customers get most of the thing they want in this store. The store sells foods, spices, clothes, utensils, liquors, vegetables, fruits, cosmetic and jewelry, religious artifacts, religious mythology, musical
