However, though illegal immigrants impose a fiscal cost, illegal immigration surprisingly has a positive effect on the country’s economy when costs are efficiently allocated amongst federal, state, and local levels of the government (Illegal Immigration, Ramanujan Nadadur). Unfortunately, a plethora of American media outlets, such as Fox News or MSNBC, are funded by extremists on either side of the political spectrum, ultimately influencing the transparency and accuracy of the news. In a different Pew Research Center study, it was discovered that during elections, Fox News allots more air-time for the Republican candidate, while it is estimated that only about 3-6% of the Democratic candidate’s little coverage is positive.
