Immigration for centuries has been a common theme in the United States. The US alone is a current melting pot and will continue to be so. Currently we are at an all-time high with immigration. “Immigrants in the US and their US born children now approximately 81 million people or 26 percent of the overall US population” (Zong and Batavola, 2016) with that being said, our current president of the United States wants to decrease the current immigration “problem” that is at hand. People tend to treat immigrants as a disease when they are people who want to have the American Dream.

Currently, the POTUS set out an executive order on the temporary ban of citizens from, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, and Libya from traveling into the United States (White House Government, January 27, 2017). Many people have had many issues with this ban. Due to the fact that the United States have many mixed races, and religions. “Freedom of religion”, is what is stated in the 1st amendment. President Trump has targeted those of Muslim faith, and in the eyes of this country is unfair? This is a direct attack on the Muslim religion, and President Trump finds them to put the United States in danger.
Keeping immigration within the family? Should those who have family members in the states be allowed to stay in the United States, legally? Luckily, the US has been slightly lenient on letting family members be in the United States with family members who are current citizens. Conservatives say they get everything for free while Americans have to work for it .They tend to believe that jobs in all areas are being taken from them. Employers in the US want cheap labor they don’t mind having immigrants as their workers because they are able to pay them less. Conservatives are sometimes very close minded and believe that there are no repercussions. They are not open to the fact that immigrants are here to do good not only for themselves but for their community.
On the other hand, conservatives believe that immigrants tend to be criminals whether it be major or minor crimes. With illegals being criminals they are backing up detention centers and prisons in the country. Immigrants coming to the US and birthing children in the American soil which means they are American citizens, the problem for the United States is that we become over populated and in a sense that the child is born in the US they are able to help their parents become resident in the
