Immigration in America The United States is the country of great opportunities with equal rights. Many people around the world choose to come to the U.S. with the intention of bettering themselves as they are exposed to a more valuable education and many more job opportunities. Although immigrants come from all over the world, Mexicans are the most frowned upon. However, immigrants are not affecting the U.S., they are not taking jobs away, and they are enforcing America to grow bigger. Yes, “immigration fuels our economy. Many Americans wrongly believe that immigration hurts the economy. There is consensus among many leading economists that immigration actually gives economies a net boost… contrary to popular belief, immigrants do not reduce native employment rates overall” (Kelly). Immigrants do help the economy to grow bigger by spending money on appliances that are needed daily: food, drinks, and clothes. Also, Immigrants are helping small businesses to grow bigger day by day, by consuming their products available for the costumers. They are spending money on food, rent on a house/apartment, paying off a car, or just spending money in their local economies in order to survive. Keeping in mind that many immigrants come here to America for a better life opportunity, but when there is no high school diploma, it can be a challenge to find a decent job. Many people might think that by being an immigrant they do not have to pay taxes to Uncle Sam because they are not legal in the state. Unfortunately, American or non-American we all have to pay taxes at the end of the year. We all immigrants are not receiving a full check by the end of the week; we get our taxes taken off weekly. At the end of the year, we might get lucky and receive a refund or we might need to pay the government
