Although both stories started off rough at the end both stories showed how they each achieved the “American Dream” the lithuanian originally lost his job at the slaughterhouse but working with the local boss in his district found a way to work with the crooked system. He voted in the elections as he was directed to ,he was given another job in the slaughterhouse ,also able to join a union and able to afford to bring his wife to America. The italian brothers after leaving the clutches of Bartolo for good they found work in Newark with a good boss who paid them on time. By the time that job had ended they had saved enough money to open their own bootblack shop in a basement in Brooklyn they made very good money and were able to hire workers to help them. Wyman had the better interpretation of immigrant life because he reflected on both the positive and negative outcomes of the life of migrant worker ,while Handlin chose to only focus on the negatives of being a migrant worker at that time
