They believe people who come to the U.S. are profiteers that do not make many contributions to the society. Modern transportation and communication and the ease of seesawing between countries have affected the immigrants’ permanence in the U.S. Instead of facing difficulties of coming or staying in the new country, the immigrants have the convenience of making good money in the U.S and enjoying the good weather in their original country. Also Krikorian said the immigrants use Welfare to support themselves. The immigrants come here and over use the benefits that are from the taxes of native Americans.The author also writes the immigrants are professionally unskilled to work necessary to be included in the work society, than need to survive with the benefit that belong to U.S Americans citizens. While in 2007, 19 percent of households headed by a native born American used a least one major welfare program, the number for immigrants was 33 percent”(Krikorian, 354). Immigrants are people who come to the U.S for an opportunity for a better economic life. They will take the chance to demonstrate their quality as hard workers. The statistics show the immigrants working longer than an unskilled native born americans. In 2006, low skilled immigrants worked 56 percent longer than low skilled citizens. The immigrants usually do not use the benefits of welfare programs that are available to native born Americans, because most of the time they do not apply to the majority the immigrants (Jacoby 331). According to Tamar Jacoby “Only 1 percent of immigrants headed households avail themselves, of welfare compared to 5 percent of households headed by U.S. citizens”(331). The immigrants come to the U.S. to have better opportunities in their lives not to use welfare programs. The Daily Hampshire Gazette wrote about the Chinese immigrant that worked for 14 years as a sushi chef for then started to receive a minimum wage (Drane,A4). The Chinese worker didn’t complain about the situation because as an illegal immigrant he feels like he didn’t deserve better salary. The Chinese immigrants worked for 72 hours week for less the normal wages payment weekly. The restaurant owners exploit the immigrants situation to increase
