The people who argue that the U.S should not let immigrants come into the country believe that immigrants are harming the country. They believe that immigrants come into the United States and take citizens’ jobs. The people who argue that the U.S should let immigrants into the country believe that immigrants come into the United States looking for a better life. They argue that immigrants only come to the U.S to do the jobs that citizens do not want to do. These two views are correct to an extent. On one side, immigrants coming into the United States are not all coming with good intentions (McDonald 192). Some of them are criminals or possibly even terrorists. That is a risk the United States takes every day. However, on the other side, some immigrants coming into the United States are coming to better themselves and their families. They come into the country to try to make themselves a living and some even come fleeing poverty. The people who say that immigrants are taking jobs away from U.S natives are somewhat correct. Immigrants take a very small percent of U.S citizen’s jobs because immigrants do jobs that most U.S natives find risky (Zavodny 292). However, it is also true that immigrants do the jobs that U.S Natives do not want to do, such as harvesting fruit and raking pine straw. Solving the problem is the hard part. Some people want to keep immigrants out while others completely, while others want the U.S let immigrants in freely. However, both of these solutions will only bring more problems. If we keep immigrants out completely, then the economy will feel the burden due to lack of field workers (Zavodny). If we keep letting more immigrants come into the U.S, then there will be too many workers and not enough jobs (Zavodny). What the U.S needs to do is set certain requirements that immigrants must meet in order for them to be allowed into the country. Doing so will ensure that the U.S continues to thrive as a
