The larger they became, they more efficient they became with their resources. They were able to get lower prices from their suppliers due to scale and size of demand while also decreasing costs on their end by streamlining the processes in which those products were stocked and sold, again due to scale and demand. Why have these principles, not translated into similar developments within the ecological community? To me, a layman without a comprehensive understanding of the ins and outs of exactly how human beings make the world more sustainable, it still seems like an aggressively simple concept. Supply is supposed to correspond with demand and it seems that matters of ecological importance are the only concept on earth in which that rule does not apply. The more waste we as humans create, it would seem the need for a systematic way to deal with that waste organically would only spur the development of said technology. Sadly, because there is little profit in keeping the world habitable and an immense amount to be made in causing further damage, the flow of public opinion and private action has remained the untenable status
