It was estimated that approximately half of Queen's residents are foreign-born and 56% speaks a different language
(U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). The empirical data shows that Freedom Center would be of an important asset to Queens, as there is a proportionally high percentage of the immigrant who reigned to this community. Not only will the organization encompass cultures of diverse groups, it will also play a significant role in the lives of many immigrant women who are living in the Queen's community.
Based upon the data that we had collected we then decided that; to effectively meet the needs of the immigrant women at The Freedom Center for Immigrant Women, who are from different backgrounds such as language, culture, and race. We have to break down the barriers of them feeling rejected and discriminated by the community. We then have to have trained employees particularly women who are culturally competent in their language, race, etc. Likewise, we would empower clients through their own culture and life experiences to come together and share their individual stories. We also believe in the organizational culture as a collective mindset where every woman will feel safe to be empowered as they come together as sisters of immigrant women struggling to achieve the American dream with the limitations that they
