I would like to tell you about my pregnancy. I am 19 years old and my pregnancy was unexpected. I have been confronted with not only finding out about the pregnancy , but what it is doing to my body and the consequences of being a teen parent. I am having to struggle with choosing to complete my high school diploma or working to save for my baby’s future.
I currently attend YouthBuild Lake County a nonprofit that helps young people obtain their high school diploma and receive career training. I am striving to complete my high school education while at YouthBuild. Completing high school and obtaining my high school diploma means everything to me. Not only am I completing one of my goals, but I’m one step closer to completing my education and being where I want to be in life not only for me but for my child. After completing my high school diploma, YouthBuild is going to help me transition to the next step in my career. Yet, it has been difficult to attend YouthBuild because of the symptoms associated with my pregnancy.
Initially, I experienced very bad morning sickness. I could not keep my food down and the smell of food made me want to puke, and although this symptom has improved, I still get nauseous from time to time. Another symptom I’m having is fluid retention. …show more content…
He sounded happy, but speechless at the same time because he honestly thought that he could not have kids for some odd reason. As time passed along he went from feeling happy to scared and nervous about the pregnancy.
