Imaginary Avoid

Moliere’s Imaginary Invalid , a musical, farce and a comedy all at the same time. A play like nothing I've seen before. I myself realized that I enjoy musicals, and this was no exception. This play keeps the audience attention, while at least my attention. The setting takes place in Paris during the seventeenth century. The play was originally written in French, and Dan Smith worked to translate it into English. There are nine characters in the Imaginary Invalid but I would say that their are three main character. Argan, Angelique, and Toinette are The three main character in the play. Argan is the imaginary invalid, he is also a very wealthy man, and a hypochondriac. His goal is to devises a plan to secure constant medical attention for …show more content…
I enjoyed the characters, and the stories of the each person. I think that the actors really gave something to the characters. The voice, how they projected their voice, grabbed the attention of the audience. The sarcasm was easily noticed and able to pick up on which made the audience more engaged into the play. The audience all had that catharsis moment. I was able to look next to me and across the seating and see everyone laughing at the same jokes, and following the characters. Each action or stage direction was placed so particularly and made a difference and had an affect in the …show more content…
I did not know what to expect at first, all I knew was that it was a comedy. But I could have never expected to see what I saw. I really like Toinette, she was by far my favorite character. I liked the story of her, I thought her sarcasm, eye rolls, big sighs, funny remarks made it more entertaining. There really wasn't much I did not like. The songs were catchy and witty, the singing was very impressive. The only think I didn't care for was the nephew, not that it was acted badly or anything. I actually thought it was weird but weird enough to be intrigued by it. It was just creepy the way the costume was, that it was hard and weird to watch, but I could not look away. Also the whole Argan being a doctor at the end was such a unexpected curve ball. I was just confused by the whole thing but it didn't make the play bad. All in all I would absolute recommend this play, I actually wished I could have taken my mother with me, because I think she would have enjoyed the play as

On the evening of Saturday October 8th, the cast of the play Fuddy Meers took the stage and put on a unique and exquisite performance. The play took place in the Temple Theatre which I found was a highly interesting venue. There were several different elements that I found greatly intriguing during the course of the ninety minute performance, however, there were a few elements that I felt were also lacking. The first element that I believed helped to add significance to the performance was the stage setup(1). The revolving setup of the stage was perfect for this play and it allowed much versatility for the characters during specific instances.…

On November 22nd , 2015 , I had attended a play “A servant of Two masters” that played downtown Pittsburgh at the O’Reilly theater, the play was directed by Ted Pappas. He had put together a creative and intriguing play, having actors stay spontaneous and interact with the audience, therefore no parts would be found boring nor dry. All the actors had held up their end of their roles quite well, by fully disguising themselves as that character they were suppose to be during the entire play. In the play “A Servant of Two masters” is about a girl Clarice who originally had an arranged marriage but was called off due to her fiancé death, who was Federigo Rasponi of Turin.…

John Moore’s production of Sweeny Todd was a refreshing take on the classical tale. The artists brought to life a convincing dark comedy on how revenge and violence can consume a person until they are blinded by it. I believe the artists not only wanted to elicit a response from the audience but also leave them with a warning about the horrors of revenge and the importance of letting go of what is hurting your heart and soul. First, for the most part the musical accomplished their purpose. The audience from start to finish was enthralled by the production.…

In my opinion, the play exceeded my expectations. I did not expect the actors to perform in a way that made me believe his or her conflict. The painting also added to the setting by focusing on the art aspect of the play. I also enjoyed the humor of the play.…

The Romeo and Juliet 1968 version is a movie you should watch if you are a new Shakespearean learner. This movie shows and demonstrates almost everything that you would feel if, you were to see Shakespeare put on a play. In my opinion the chemistry between all of the characters was phenomenal. It made me feel as if I was apart of the movie and saw all of this unfold in Verona. Also the comic relief that the Nurse and Mercutio supplied was phenomenal in my perspective.…

Comedy of Errors Essay In the play The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare, the ending leads to a satisfactory conclusion. This is as the ending resolves the main conflict in many different ways. Antipholus of Syracuse is reunited with his long-lost family, Egeon is free of his griefs, and the Dromios are reunited for the first time since infancy. Through the solving of the dilemma, Shakespeare conceals several important morals to the Elizabethan audience that the modern audience can also learn from.…
