My Future Well, what can I say? This is the real me. Im a lover of romantic movies. I have so much hope in myself. I’m only 17 but I basically have my future planned out. Should I write about my plans for my future or should I just write down the reasons for the decisions I’m making. I’m very ambitious, and once I set my mind to accomplish something is almost impossible to get my mind off it. I put my unconditional time and effort into everything I go after. I don’t believe people get fortuitous, because we all get what we deserve. My hypothesis is that if you make someone of yourself it will take a lot of fortitude and ambition. My parents taught my sisters and I how to take care of our objects and personal belongings very well because it might be the last thing we get in life. Me and my sisters never really get expensive objects or a lot of money. Its not a problem for me right now, because it taught me how to value and take care of my things. All These moments I cherish so much. Some of my friends call me “boring” or “lame”,but I just see myself more as a family type of person. Growing up as a child I had a pretty ordinary lifestyle. We lived in a comfortable two story home with one and a half bathrooms and three bedrooms. I had a nice, cozy bed, clothes to drape myself in, and food in my stomach, what more could I ask for? We never really struggled to acquire things but we were not the most blessed family. At the end of the day, we had what we needed and that is all that mattered.…

This Future Me Portfolio is a combination of information that I have created and collected throughout the semester. It is comprised of several parts including: Keirsey Temperament Type Indicator, VARK Learning Styles Inventory, Multiple Intelligence Inventory, Holland Code, Degree Works Academic Evaluation formerly the Program of Study, and a three term or more academic course plan. Within the context of this Perimeter Orientation course, I have honed communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills all while defining my personal identity, exploring the college community, and formulating academic and career goals for success. For the majority of my professional life I worked primarily in the private sector; consequently, I have very minimal professional experience in the public sector. While rummaging through various documents, searching for material required for the completion of this analysis, I recognized that there are overlapping and recurring themes which clearly point to who I am as a professional and, thus, the direction in which my professional life should proceed, public service. Therefore, my professional mission statement is, “To vigorously perform my responsibilities as a public administrator and to enhance the quality of public service by providing my clients with dedication, honesty and a commitment to make the best interest of all, my first priority.”…

The future is never clear, and my own was no exception. Thoughts of what I wanted to do with my life were always followed by uncertainty. During the entirety of my adolescence I always felt overwhelmed by my inability to decide my future, leading to a metastasizing panic in my inabilities to achieve success in any discipline. My transition from childhood fantasies to adult goals was anything but seamless and I often found myself lost, especially in academics.…

Throughout someone’s lifespan a person can endure many trials, tests, troubles, and obstacles. I have not come across anyone who has had a perfect life, and being in the human service profession I especially do not expect to ever find someone who has. As a professional in training I understand that I will be able to someday help others through difficult times in their life like finding a new job, arranging childcare for their children, comforting someone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, or a couple seeking help with their relationship. I also understand that I will be put in the situation to help someone who has different beliefs or comes from a different culture than I have. Such as helping a homosexual individual tell his or her…

It was the summer of 2007, and my parents thought that it would be a brilliant idea to go on a family road trip to some unknown location. This was the summer before I started high school and I wasn’t in the family bonding mood for a day let alone two weeks. With me being an only child, grandchild, and great grandchild, I was the only kid with five adults in a minivan. Why my parents thought that this was a good idea is still beyond my imagination.…

Einstein once said, “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” I look at this quote as inspiration as to what it would take for me to consider my life successful in 30 years. I think what Einstein is trying to say is that life is too short to worry about what others think and constantly be trying to accumulate better “stuff”. To be truly happy one needs to look at all of what life has to offer and decided what they want out of it and not what others tell them they want. Personally, I view life as a series of experiences, some good some bad, but I view all these experiences as new opportunities to learn and grow.…

Future. That’s probably one of the scariest words I know. The future is unpredictable, it’s often wrapped in wrapping paper, ready to be opened and it can both be exciting and disappointing. While I was in Elementary, I dreamed of being a chef, a cop, a fashion designer, a softball player, a singer, and an actor. As soon as I was in middle school, I wanted to be one thing, a singer, I had decided that I liked singing enough for it to be a career, although my vocal range disagreed.…
