When I first learned about doing this assignment I instantly thought it would be pretty interesting. In the social work profession, you might be tasked with reaching out to individuals or different agencies about different things. Even though this assignment doesn’t compare to anything you would be doing in the social work world when individuals lives are in your hand at times. This Assignment still getting you into that mindset that you need to reach out to others for questions or just information in general. Originally I thought the criteria for being able to interview an individual for the assignment such as the person needing to have a bachelor degree in social work and needing to work in an agency setting was pretty easy. So I asked around and tried my luck by asking if anyone fit my description for the interview. Luckily for me it was a nice woman who perfectly fitted the necessarily criteria for the interview. Mrs. Walker earned her undergraduate degree in 2006 at the University of Oklahoma. After graduating she furthered her education by earning her master 's degree at the University of New York in 2007. Her official job title is "Clinical Social Worker" she works with very closely with the clinic providing assistance to all different kind of clients. The clients Mrs. Walker deals with the most are low income families and older adults. The parents are who usually gets seen and sometimes seniors on occasions as well. Child guidance is another thing she helps out with it includes behavior health, this program provides treatment for children dealing with, emotion behavioral and learning …show more content…
Walker said she has come across a few problems since she has begun to work at the Cleveland County health department. The first thing she addressed was the lack of resources, which includes both personal and financial. She said the county could personally use more funding so they can hire additional help and so they also have more available resources for clients. For instance, if one of her clients has a substance abuse problem her agency doesn’t provide treatment so she usually has to give them a referral to a different agency. Mrs. Walker said the best way to solving this dilemma is to work with the resources you have available. You can’t really dwell with what you don’t have instead you need to work with what you have and assist clients the best way that you can. was a couple on indications of micro and mezzo social work within the agency that she worked at. Micro is indicated because she works with children’s and families every day to try and help them with solving problems and providing assistance. Mezzo is indicated because the agency provides assistance to the community by providing, free health courses and free STD and HIV
