“Marrisa he’s not good for you. He sells drugs, hangs out on the streets, and dropped out of high school,” pleaded her mom.
“That doesn’t matter I like him, and I’m going to be with him no matter what you say!” Marrisa replied angrily.
Marrisa ran out the door. Linda screamed for her daughter, Marrisa, to come back, but she never looked back. These arguments had become an everyday event for Marrisa and her mother. Linda wanted to protect her daughter from going down the same road that she had traveled by falling in love with the wrong guy when she was Marrisa’s age. They checked to see if she was still breathing, but there was no sign of life in her. The medical examiner said it looked as if Marrisa had been strangled, but of course he had to complete an autopsy.
Linda told the police they should go question her boyfriend Ty because he was the last person she saw Marrisa with at Denny’s, but she failed to mention the argument.
The police went to question Ty, but he had an alibi. He dropped Marrisa off at home after they left Denny’s that night and went to stay with his friend, Jay. Jay’s mother clarified that Ty was there that night.
After Ty informed the police about the scene at Denny’s, the police went to the restaurant and got the footage from that night. In the clip they saw Linda sitting in her car waiting for Ty and Marrisa to leave, and she followed them from there.
The police went to Linda’s house to ask her questions about that night. They told her that they knew about the argument at Denny’s and that they saw the footage of her following Ty and Marissa. The detective went on to say, “You are under arrest for the murder of Marissa Sloane. You have the right to remain silent . . .” Linda’s wails drowned out the detective voice and then everything faded to
