The foundation of the United States economy has always been greatly influenced by immigrants. For hundreds of years, the U.S. has been the melting pot for many cultures and generations of hard working immigrants. But immigrants who are illegal is one of the biggest problems in this country, dating all the way back to 1875. The word Immigration means to move to another country for a better living. For attaining a better job, permanent settlement or both. Illegal immigration comes into practice when people do not follow the guidelines required before and during the immigration process. Many immigrants come here to work and to live a better life. Another reason that illegal immigrants arrive illegally is because they are fleeing from the corruption of their own countries. For immigrants that cannot afford the means to get a Visa (a working or visiting permit residency in the U.S) to enter legally in the country. The end result is breaking the law and enter in the United States illegally. The majority of undocumented immigrants do often take some of the country’s least attractive job, such as agriculture. The Department of labor reported that out of 2.5 million farm workers in the U.S; over 53 percent of the farmers are illegal immigrant (Davidson, “Illegal Immigrants and the U.S Economy” 4 out of 35). These jobs are very physical in nature as well as enduring the weather. Agriculture products are picked by undocumented worker for a low wage.
