Introduction
Immigration has became a huge problem in the nation today. It cost the United States 300 billion dollars each year( Do). This money could be going toward other important matters at hand, such as the debt with China, cancer research, repairing and maintaining roads and bridges. Illegal immigration also jeopardizes the safety of our citizens. Statistically, all of these problems can be proven. Illegal immigration is a tremendous problem; better border protection with a wall and stricter immigration laws are needed to protect the citizens of the United States.

They will also deny the agency from interviewing incarcerated aliens. However, in 2017 the federal government stated that if they fail to notify ICE of the pending release of a criminal alien they will lose federal funds (Center). Most sanctuary states and cities have a high Democratic population which is why they make it so hard for the ICE agents to do their job. Many of the democratic people believe that ICE is terrorizing the people of America, and they are calling for the agency to be defunded. Thomas Homan, the acting director of the ICE agency, stated any illegal should be afraid of his agents (Time). If you came here illegally you should be afraid. You did something illegal and should be punished for what you did wrong. What about the immigrants who came here and did it the right way, legally? It is not fair for people who have done the wrong thing not to suffer consequences and the people who did it correctly have to be frustrated for making the right decisions.
Under President Trump, the agency has had a lot more room to perform their jobs correctly and have had a massive spike in deportations of illegal immigrants, most of which are convicted criminals (Time). DACA is one of the documents that needs to be taken away; DACA gives young illegal immigrants protection from deportation and gives them a work visa. Most illegal immigrants stay way longer than DACA allows which is a mandatory two years (Daca). The only thing that is being accomplished by DACA is stating that, yes they can come in illegally, and you can work and get paid. The law should be if you are here illegally you must go back, no ifs, ands, or buts. We need a strong back bone for this to happen, which is why a stronger ICE agency is needed. As it is right now ICE is overwhelmed and underfunded. President Trump would like to increase the budget for border protection to twenty three billion which could drastically help out the situation
