Illegal Immigration Illegal immigration is a legal violation that negatively impacts the U.S in a variety of ways. Most of the effects of illegal immigration are on the economy. The incarceration of illegal aliens alone costs approximately $285 million annually and is estimated to reach $812 million by 2020. U.S taxpayers are also burdened with welfare benefits being paid to children of illegals. Around 8 million of the estimated total of 11.2 million aliens are currently in the workforce. Most of these jobs are in California and Texas and are generally in similar industries. The U.S Government has a duty to deal with the issue of illegal immigrants. Enslaving illegal aliens would be
