Over the course of the years the number of immigrants has increased. In 2016 there was about 43.7 million of immigrants. They make up a big part of our population but also help economically. But there is a slight problem not all immigrants have all the opportunities like a U.S citizen. For instance, immigrants in some parts of the U.S can’t get licenses. Why is that?
Illegal immigrants don’t have the same rights as U.S Citizens. We can’t go out of the U.S or travel on plane and without a driver’s license that means either getting public transportation or driving without a license. Not being from the U.S creates a whole other conflict but we will be talking about licenses the pros and cons of giving licenses. I personally agree and support the idea of giving licenses to all the immigrants.
This would have many benefits not only for the families but for the economy and where we live. If all 43.7 immigrants got licenses imagine how it would help the economy. Not only would they have to pay to get the license but also drivers ed, permit test, insurance and even buying cars. I have a big example about another program called DACA for undocumented immigrants. There was about 1 million of people who qualified and they made about $280 billion dollars. In 2015 there was 29,981 people injured in traffic crashes. We all know that to get either a permit or license we are supposed to take drivers Ed and a driver’s test. The reason why I say the roads would be safer is because now that people have licenses they have already been tested to see if they are good drivers. Right now people drive without license and we don’t even know if they will be good drivers or not. We would have safer roads knowing that everyone on the road will have been tested and will be a good
