The ceramic and the poem were both created by ancient Greek artists, even though two hundred and thirty years apart. They also illustrate the importance of the roles that these two soldiers play (according to the Iliad, Ajax and Achilles were their best Greek soldiers and the ceramic also illustrates the importance of these two characters). Achilles was the representation of the winner and Ajax the loser, which is also similar of what the Iliad said, because between the two of them, Achilles was the best soldier. The armor, helmets, tunics, shields and the weapons they had also show the similarities between the ceramic and the poem, Ajax and Achilles’ personalities and their passion for a battle and/or competition also shows how similar both pieces of art are, they both represent the intensity of a battle and to find out who would be victorious. The Iliad has a modern influence such as the war in Israel and Palestine, which has been going on for a long time since 1948, which is sixty-eight years of war, fifty years longer than the war between Trojans and Greeks. It definitely has the same concept of two nations that are close to each other, with similar cultures and with the same purpose which is to win the war and gain victory to bring back to their country, the intensity, the deaths, the anger for not obtaining what they want is what strives them to keep fighting until the end, the Iliad has influences in our modern period and it shows it in this war, this was as same as the Trojans and Greeks has leaders of these countries(Mahmoud Abbas and Reuven Rivlin or for the Iliad Agamemnon and Priam) and it could have influenced other wars in our modern period on how to prepare themselves, knowing that there has to be a loser and a winner and they both need to get prepared and use their best armor, weapons and soldiers, and also how both wars have innocent people dying.
