The Old Testament is known throughout the western nations, with many reading, studying, and preaching its texts around the world. Many verses from the Old Testament are reinterpreted in a way that many of its readers pick and choose verses from the text. “But what about the cities the Lord your God is giving you as your own? Kill everything that breathes in those cities.” Why is a God, a God that represented to be all loving and forgiving, wants the deaths of innocent people, including children? This text and many others in the Old Testament are completely ignored, due to it not aligning with our own values.
